Ian Fox Minnock, CPG, PMP, is an Engineering Geologist III with Alaska's Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, where he leads geotechnical investigations for critical transportation infrastructure while championing the modernization of geological field operations through electronic data collection workflows and standard operating procedures that enhance accuracy and efficiency in Alaska's challenging environments. With over a decade of experience spanning geologic consulting, mining operations, military service, and academic research, he is committed to advancing the geoscience profession through mentorship of junior geologists and active community service with the Alaska Chapter of the Project Management Institute, the Alaska Section of the American Institute of Professional Geologists the Local 52 veterans, and DOT&PF Special Issues board.

Crystal Hegel, PMP, is a System Analyst at True North Federal Credit Union, where she leads initiatives to deliver high-level project support and strategic guidance across the organization. In this role, she focuses on enhancing processes, improving system functionality, and driving successful project outcomes.

Crystal brings over 18 years of experience in the credit union industry, with a diverse background spanning financial services teller, loan officer, operations supervisor, accounts payable specialist, accounting manager, and mortgage servicer. This breadth of experience provides her with a comprehensive understanding of credit union operations and enables her to effectively support complex projects and organizational initiatives.

She holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts with a minor in Business from the University of Alaska Southeast, combining creativity with analytical structure in her professional approach.

In addition to her role, Crystal actively contributes her time by serving on multiple advisory boards affiliated with her credit union’s core system provider. Through this work, she collaborates with industry peers to influence system improvements and drive meaningful change that benefits organizations using shared platforms.

Crystal joined the Project Management Institute (PMI) in 2023 and earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in December 2024. She is passionate about continuously expanding her expertise as new technologies and methodologies emerge and is currently pursuing her PMI Certified Professional in Citizen Development (PMI-CPMAI) certification.

Gary Shu, PMP, serves as the Fairbanks Branch Director for the PMI Alaska Chapter. Gary is the Community and Infrastructure Development Division Director for the Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC), where he leads initiatives to enhance and sustain critical infrastructure across the region.  With two decades of experience as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Gary specializes in energy and infrastructure management. Gary holds an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Columbia University and graduate degrees in technology policy, city planning, and electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Princeton University. He is currently completing a Master of Security and Disaster Management (MSDM) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Gary lives in Fairbanks and is a certified PADI SCUBA instructor who enjoys exploring the Alaska wilderness with his wife and their two dogs, Gyulchatai and Zvezdochka.
