PMI Alaska Chapter Annual Banquet February 10, 2018 6 pm to 10 pm Location: Petroleum Club Cost is $45 each, Includes dinner and door prizes Open to PMIAK Members plus 1 guest only Topic is a historical perspective on the Alaska Highway's strategic importance in World War II The presentation gives a short historical perspective on the Alaska Highway's strategic importance in World War II. The highway project was begun and completed in an unbelievable 8 1/2 months and covered 1,650 miles. Through a massive mobilization of nearly 11,000 soldiers, (5000 of which were black) and private contractors, the joint cooperative governments of America and Canada accomplished what was called at the time "the eighth wonder of the world." Newly formed Corps of Engineer Regiments were created to tackle this monumental task in one of the world's most inhospitable climates.

PMIAK Monthly Meeting February 21, 2018 6 pm to 8 pm Plant tour and dinner Plant 2A on the Glenn Hwy (the brand new one), meeting starts at 6pm, and should be over by 8pm. Catered buffet dinner will be provided. Directions to venue: Take the Muldoon exit going south off the Glenn Highway. Turn on to Boundary Avenue going east. Take the first left on to Starview Drive. Stop at the guard shack and tell the guard you are here for the tour. Follow the attached map for parking inside the plant. Go in the front door of the plant and someone will meet you inside. Map
