PMIAK Chapter Annual Creek Cleanup

News

On Saturday, May 18th, the PMI Alaska Chapter participated in the 40th Annual Creek Cleanup sponsored by the Anchorage Waterways Council. The event drew over a dozen enthusiastic volunteers to Westchester Lagoon in Anchorage, including PMIAK members, their families, and other community supporters. The turnout was fantastic, with participants eager to contribute to the cleanup efforts and share a sense of community spirit.

The volunteers focused on removing litter and debris from around Westchester Lagoon. Among the collected items were paper, bottles, cans, and even some old shoes. The participants' efforts led to the collection of two full bags of trash, significantly enhancing the health and aesthetics of the area. Our collective effort demonstrated the power of community action in making a tangible difference. The event cleaned up the lagoon, strengthened networks, and highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship.

As the cleanup concluded, there was a shared sense of accomplishment and gratitude. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all volunteers for their contributions. We hope you can join the PMI Alaska Chapter in future cleanups and member events.
